Movie Season

Tis the season for releasing movies. Not sure it's one for watching them given the low amount of money spent on tickets this past weekend.

My favorite movie this time around is one made for TV - in 2004.
Something The Lord Made

So far, I've only seen half of it before we stopped for dinner, but I'm totally hooked and the last scene is sitting in my head waiting for the story to continue.

This one depicts medical breakthroughs, racism in the days of Jim Crow, a slice of history (based on a true story), and amazing acting. It's currently playing on one of the premium channels.

Warning - includes some medical experimenting on dogs and scenes of surgery, but, so far, nothing too disturbing.

Really great piece. I was impressed with Mos Def in that.

This week I'm going to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

He steals the show for sure. So much dignity, pride, emotion in an understated performance. I love Alan Rickman and he plays the part amazingly, but he can't quite come up to Mos Def's standard. But that could be because the movie is more about Mos's character.

Those both sound like excellent movies. Hope you enjoy!
